Our series of fxphd Resolve courses contain four courses: the introductory Resolve Fundamentals, Advanced Resolve, Looks and Matching Masterclass, and Insider Techniques for the Pro Colorist. By using an application like Resolve which is designed for grading, your understanding of color and light will certainly improve, making you a better compositor. When you know when and how to use the best tool for the job - whether it’s Nuke, Fusion, Flame, or Resolve - you’ll only be better at your craft.Īs a VFX artist, your creative and artistic skills will only improve the more that you learn and perfect the art of grading. Our Resolve courses, taught by experienced colorist Warren Eagles, will take your skills to the next level, both from an efficiency standpoint as well as a creative standpoint. This becomes especially true as you make the leap from a scene-based compositing to someone who is working on multiple scenes as part of a larger timeline such as a promo or tv commercial. But unlike Resolve, compositing apps aren’t designed from the ground up to be fast, efficient, and specialized in grading imagery. They do the job well and are nicely integrated within the app. If you’re a VFX artist, you’re likely well familiar with the color correction tools in your compositing application of choice.
